Single-use, sterilized, hair-thin needles are inserted into specific points of the body to activate the nervous system and promote blood flow. From a western science perspective, acupuncture stimulates your body’s nerves, connective tissue, and muscles. From the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture activates Qi (energy) at points along each person’s meridians, enabling the body to rebalance itself.

How Acupuncture Helps:

PROMOTES HEALING Offering a small electrical prompt to the body to restore homeostasis & balance.

RELEASES BLOCKAGE Releasing areas of blocked Qi, which stimulates organ function & promotes health

IMPROVES CIRCULATION Promoting circulation in the body improves function where needed

DECREASES PAIN Acting as a natural analgesic, acupuncture interrupts pain signaling.

BALANCES BODY CHEMISTRY Influencing the body’s biochemical responses via the nervous system.

REDUCES INFLAMMATION Reducing pro-inflammatory markers, or proteins, in the body.

Kristina graduated from Pacific Rim College in April 2017 and became a Registered Acupuncturist with the CTCMA of British Columbia shortly after. Her interest in alternative health care began at a young age when she experienced various health issues that western medicine didn’t have the answers to.

She studied Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at The Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in Nelson, BC, and later at Pacific Rim College in Victoria. Here she learned directly from Doctors of Chinese Medicine, studying gynaecology, dermatology, internal medicine, paediatrics, Tuina massage, and advanced orthopaedic acupuncture.

After graduating from Pacific Rim, Kristina travelled to Japan where she had the amazing opportunity to train in Shiatsu massage, enjoy plenty of powder skiing, and immerse herself in Japanese culture and customs. From Japan she moved to Australia, where she mentored for one year at a fertility acupuncture clinic on the Gold Coast.

Traditional Chinese Medicine and holistic healthcare has truly grown into a passion for her. She is continually learning, growing, and in search of ways to better help people towards optimal health. She is currently studying to become a registered Traditional Chinese herbalist and is very happy to be serving the communities of Kamloops and Sun Peaks Resort.
